Major Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water supplies, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

He said that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles struck the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The assaults succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

National leaders told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.
